Will I have to pay a deposit to book?
Yes. We ask for a 40% deposit at the time of booking. The balance, equating to 60% plus taxes, is due 90 days before arrival.
What is your cancellation policy?
We return all but $500 of your deposit if you cancel more than 365 days before your planned arrival date.
We return half of your deposit if you cancel more than 180 days before your planned arrival date.
You may also choose to cancel and put your entire deposit towards a future booking up to 180 days before your planned arrival date. (Please note you can only postpone your holiday once per booking.)
Within 90 days of your planned arrival date all payments are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Should I buy trip cancellation insurance?
Yes. We strongly advise you take out trip cancellation insurance. We cannot make exceptions to our refund policy on compassionate grounds.
What if I can’t make it to the lodge because of wildfires, airline strikes etc?
We do not accept liability where the cause in the failure of your holiday arrangements is due to unusual or unforeseeable circumstances that neither we or our agents could have anticipated or avoided even with the exercise of all due care (for example wildfires, airline strikes etc..)
Are there any limitations on guests wishing to stay at the lodge?
The experience that we offer is a wilderness one. We don’t recommend our holidays for guests who will struggle on uneven terrain or who have mobility problems.
We do not usually book guests under the age of 14 or over the age of 75 in September and October or during our spring season. We may take guests as young as 10 years old during our summer season.
Some of our activities are on river rafts and we will ask you to sit out the trip if you weigh more than 120 kgs (260 lbs/18.5 stone). These limitations are for your safety.
We are not set up to cater for photographers using tripods.
Because we are off the power grid, we do not offer laundry services.
We have satellite-linked internet for guests to use.
