Spring Bear Tracking and Viewing

May-June

  • You can expect to see black bears and may well see moose, elk and grizzly bears.
  • Rarer sightings include wolves, beavers, cougars, bobcat, lynx and porcupines.
  • A guided forest walk among old-growth cedar trees.
  • An optional hike or snowshoe into subalpine grizzly bear habitat.
  • We head out in tiny groups – typically 2 to 4 guests with an expert guide.
  • We track and view completely wild animals. No staged, managed or scripted tourist experiences. We do not use commercial wildlife-viewing stands.
  • This is the best season to see our songbirds and hummingbirds.
  • Age recommendation: 14-75. Fitness recommendation: 4/10.

Autumn Grizzly Tracking and Viewing

September-October

  • A chance to walk in the sub-alpine and track and view high-elevation bears feeding on huckleberries, or see grizzly bears fishing for red salmon in the river.
  • Walk in BC’s ancient inland rainforest, the only ecosystem of its type.
  • We also have black bears, moose, elk, wolves, beavers, cougars and bobcats.
  • We head out in tiny groups – typically 2 to 4 guests with an expert bear guide.
  • We track and view completely wild animals. No staged, managed or scripted tourist experiences. We do not use commercial wildlife-viewing stands.
  • Float down our wilderness river. Watch Kokanee salmon and bald eagles.
  • Age recommendation: 14-75. Fitness recommendation: 4/10.
